The Scholarship Fund was founded by several alumni of the Alpha Eta chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi. The goal of the Alpha Kappa Psi Scholarship Fund is to award scholarships to students who attend the Carlson School of Management who have strong academic records and leadership experience. Since 1988, the Scholarship Fund has awarded $1.6MM in scholarships to 242 recipients.  For the 2016/17 academic year, we awarded $155,000 to 8 incoming freshman and 21 upperclassmen.

The Alpha Kappa Psi Scholarship Fund will award several scholarships to students attending the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, including the following named scholarships:

  • Thomas E. Burnett, Jr., Scholarship

  • Class of '74-'75 Scholarship

  • Jim Hays Scholarship

  • Bruce Hendry Scholarship

  • Philip Smaby Scholarship

  • Leigh Lonson Scholarship

  • Wallace Dahl Scholarship

  • Enterprise Education Scholarship

You do not have to be a member of Alpha Kappa Psi to qualify for these scholarships. Alpha Kappa Psi members will not be given preferential treatment for these scholarships.

Financial need will be taken into account for some but not all scholarships. We request FAFSA information so applicants may be considered for all scholarships.

Certain Alpha Kappa Psi scholarships include paid housing, therefore a condition of accepting those scholarships is a requirement to live at the Alpha Kappa Psi house with the other scholarship recipients, if space is available. It is highly encouraged that you tour the house, please see the 'About Our House' page for more details.
